Herne, Akademie Mont Cenis

The site of the former Mont Cenis mine in Herne saw Schneider create a highly-complex facade construction for the Further Education Academy of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia.

Schneider erected the wooden support structure and the vertical facade as a structural glazing construction with electronic parallel extension wings and the roof glazing.

The roof glazing consists of post and beam sheds (5° inclination) and motorised opening wings. The roof of the building contains one of the largest solar panel systems integrated in a building in the world.
