Living dreams made of glass and steel. Schneider realised the glazing and shading of facades, structural glazing, elevator housing and conservatories for the award-winning glass pavilions of the NEO Bankside project that is situated next to the Tate Modern.

Living in luxury with a view of the Themes. The 217 apartments in the Neo Bankside development project in the immediate vicinity of Tate Modern and Millennium Bridge on London’s South Bank were expected to be “sophisticated”, i.e. refined and of high quality. This is why the architects Rogers Stirk Harbour + Partners planned four hexagonal residential pavilions, each with 12 – 24 floors, and a six-storey office building, surrounded by public paths and lots of greenery as opposed to a huge block. The striking steel exoskeletons with their spectacular intersections are not merely a selling point for the apartments. They facilitate maximum levels of flexibility and airiness in the interior areas and, by virtue of the all-glass facades, residents are able to savour huge amounts of daylight. On the ground floors you will find restaurants, cafés, shops and a gym. A concierge service ensures maximum levels of comfort around the clock.

Five exciting years of planning, production and assembly. Neo Bankside presented us with a number of challenges. Thus more than 5,000 facade elements had to be planned within the primary steel structure, taking into account the movements of the supporting structure, while a motorised roof shading system also had to be designed. Aluminium and oak sun protection slats on the facades serve as protection against overheating and disruptive glances. The external lift enclosures and the hanging conservatories were glazed by our teams on site. After its completion, the multi-award-winning building stands as an example of outstanding, state-of-the-art residential architecture.
