New facade project in London. <\/strong>Under construction since 2014 and located directly on the Middle Dock in London’s financial centre of Canary Wharf, our facades are now reaching great heights during the construction of the new skyscraper, the “Newfoundland Tower”. Schneider was commissioned with the entire realisation of the facade including its diagrids. The residential tower with its 58 storeys and 566 luxury flats that were originally planned (later 60 storeys and 636 flats) is also called the “Diamond Tower” because of the diamond-shaped ground plan and the expressive steel diamonds adorning its facade. The aluminium sheet diagrids not only possess an aesthetic but also a structural function. They stabilise the building against the wind loads that act upon it and also ensure privacy between neighbouring flats and balconies. The architects deliberately opted for a warm champagne tone for the aluminium facade as a contrast to the steel structures in the surrounding area.<\/p>\n
